My mother was diagnosed with some abnormal microcalcifications on her breast. She had a biopsy and the results were abnormal. She will have surgery and I am so depressed and scared for her. I try to hide it from her but I know that she sees that I am suffering.
Claudia, I think it's totally normal to be depressed and scared. You're mom is going through a lot right now and needs your support. It must be different for you as she's usually the one GIVING the support! Please remember that a diagnosis of breast cancer is NOT a death sentence. She's going to have to go through her surgery and maybe some other treatments, but she will get through it. When I was diagnosed, my daughter (14 years old at the time) and I sat and cried together. It was very healing for both of us to express our sadness together. Good luck and keep us informed!
