I signed up on this site a few days ago, and I havent been able to talk to anyone on here since Ive joined. Does anyone just want someone to talk to or to listen. I do.

It is a long hard road but we are Strong Women and we don't give up easily. If you have any questions feel free to ask, I will do the best I can to answer. I know a great doctor in New Orleans. Women from all over go to him. Wish I had of known of him before my first surgery. I will be praying for you and your family. email me anytime, it helps to have someone to talk to bout all this. My biggest concern at this moment is the chemo. Getting through it with all the different side effects. I like to know what to expect, thus I have read & read & read some more. Just trying to figure how to keep working full time, take care of my 16yr old son 12 year old son, and still try to not overwhelm my fiance.

Did you go through chemo? If so how were your side effects. My treatments are scheduled to be every 2 weeks starting June 29th (same day kids go to summer camp).

On the other note, thanks for the dr recommendation. I live in NJ & am very happy so far with how my treatment is going. Have a team of doctors. If I ever get to New Orleans area I will let you know. I want to take the kids their for Marti Gra at least once....we will see. Thanks again.

Permalink Reply by Lee Blackwell on June 16, 2010 at 4:50pm: Hey, No I didn't have to take chemo, Thank God. I have taken care of people that was receiving chemo. Fatigue, vomiting, Hot flashes, not wanting to eat, do try to and drink plenty of fluid when you can. Try to rest and have kids and fiance help when they can. I have had my patients do relaxation methods. Getting stressed out won't help. Easier said then done. I know this is the most stressful thing we are going through. Embrace your loved ones and make wonderful memories together and have alot of happy times the cherish. that will help alot. Always remember You are a very brave and strong woman. We don't give up easy. You will have your good days and bad. Start you a personal diary, this helps alot. Be careful in the sun. You will do fine, just go in with your positve additude. Blessed Be

Deb (if I can call you that, I have a sister named Deborah), you WILL get through this! When I was going through my treatment, my daughter was almost 14 and my son was 10. I'm glad your boys will be at summer camp which will give you a little rest during your chemo. Which chemo are you doing? I did CMF so I didn't lose my hair completely, although it thinned out a lot. I also went to the acupuncturist after each chemo session which I think helped with my nausea. I still felt it, but never threw up. I also have a good friend who put together a "dinner tree" for me so my family had meals the day of and 2 days after my chemo treatment. That was a big help. I hope these suggestions help. No radiation or chemo..nodes were clear. thank god...just trying to crawl my way back to normal..what is that anyway?haha Still have all my sutures and drains...hopefully next week can get rid of those...I am weak and tired but there are so many more in much worse shape than I..so I am here..if anyone wants to rant, whine, moan or just share. KEEP YOUR SENSE OF HUMOR NO MATTER WHAT!
